  • It is the direct modelling application of a suite of 10 that consists of apps, each delivering a distinct set of capabilities for a user role within product development. Tools provided are collaborative Solid models, assemblies, Orthographic and isometric views in 2D, finite element analysis, No uniform rational basis spline (NURBS) surface modelling, parametric modelling, direct drafting, and NC and tooling functionality for Production and mechanical designers. CREO is also known as CREO Elements/Pro, or CREO Elements/Direct Modelling, formerly known together with CREO Parametric, as Pro/ENGINEER and Wildfire. The CREO suits replace and supersede Pro/ENGINEER (PRO-E), Co-create, and Product View which were earlier versions developed by PTC. CREO is developed by Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC) which is computer software and Services Company founded in 1985 located in Boston in Massachusetts.

  • CREO began to develop within the year 2009 by PTC. Initially, they announced it employing a code name Project Lightning at Planet PTC. PTC unveiled the merchandise name for Project lightning to be CREO in October 2010. Afterwards, CREO was released in June 2011. CREO is generated to support Windows OS specifically. CREO connects to the PTC’s other software that helps in development with Wind-chill for Product lifecycle management (PLM), Mathcad for engineering calculations and Arbor text for enterprise publishing software. Hence CREO may be a broader development system PTC ever developed. CREO apps are available in English, French, Italian, Spanish, German, Japanese, Russian, Korean, and Traditional Chinese. The extent of localization varies from full translation of the merchandise (including Help) to interface only.
